An Izakaya.

After an absolutely unique experience at Camellia we were led by Atsuko to another wonderful experience, that we had tried to do before, on our own, but couldn’t. Simply, we don’t understand Japanese, and you need to at least understand somewhat what you have on the menu. An Izakaya is a tavern-like establishment, a place to enjoy some drinks with family and friends, and some really tasty food.

This was a beyond awesome experience. It was most definitely one of the most incredible moment we had in Japan.

we had to leave our shoes at the entrance, and we sat within "wholes" around the tables, were we could fit our legs. Some people sat crossed legged or with their legs underneath their body.

Then the best part came along. We had a coal griller just for ourselves, and Atsuko had the most amazing ingredients on the grill, cooking them and cutting them with a scissors, showing us what it really is like to eat at an izakaya. Sometimes I look at these pictures my heart melts, and I just want to go back.

It’s very hard for me to come up with the best experience in Japan, but this was definitely one of them. It makes me warm inside.

As you’re reading this, I’ll be flying over to some other place, for a fun time.

Have fun and check my instagram!
