Can I move in? #1

If you’re familiar with my Pinterest you’ll know that I love Northern Europe houses and their decor. Every once in a while I roam around websites like A Merry Mishap, Lovenordic, My Scandinavian Home amongst others and dream of those white/black/grey, simple homes, with splashes of color or greenery here and there. So I’m starting a new category here. Can I move in will show you guys homes that I fell in love with, every week.

Hope you guys like it!

Fantastic Frank is a realtor website featuring homes for sale in Stockholm and Berlin. It’s one of my favorite places to dream with these wonderful houses.

How awesome is this place? I can almost see K grilling away on the bbq, and having lunch on the balcony, while Akira enjoys the views from up there… So good. Simple and cozy. Always.

Have a great Friday!

Really Nice Images — Review

I have always been a fan of VSCO film packs, for either the photos on my iPhone or camera photos with Lightroom. However that may be about to change.

I present to you Real Nice Images Film Presets. These guys have been around the block since 2012 and promises users the opportunity to enhance digital photos with Instagram-like simulations.

“What makes us getting back to distinctive analog colours and grain again and again? We believe the reason is character. It is something in human nature to strive for perfection but to love for character.” ~ RNI

I couldn’t agree more with this quote. We just keep going back.

About a week ago RNI, knowing my love for photography, offered me the entire pack of the new RNI Film V3.0 Presets, and I couldn’t be happier! I played with it for a while and it really surprised me the subtle way they can enhance a photo — so I had to talk about it here.

Having said that, a disclaimer is in order: this review is my own opinion and point of view; I was not paid to do it, and all of the following is unbiased.

RNI Film Presets are divided into five different packs, designed to give you different results: Negative Films, Slide Films, Instant Films, Vintage Films, and Black & White.

Around.

Edit: apparently a few of my initial sentences magically disappeared from the post. They were definitely there when I previewed it! Aah…I need to remind myself to breathe. More.
Obviously I was talking about how it’s been a little hard to be at home without the computer.

Being limited sometimes brings about good things, though! I’m drawing more and having more ideas, which is great! Now if only I had a computer to make them a reality… Anyway, I’m bringing to life the very lost and forgotten Wrap Up category. But I’m changing it slightly. I need to find a name for it, which I don’t have at the moment – just because I have ideas, doesn’t mean I have solutions for everything okay? But since I’m currently weaving a new, more user friendly, blog design, I’m not gonna bother with names.

So let’s just get down to it.

Let’s call it interesting things I found around the web.

This fabulous apartment in Malmö, from My Scandinavian Home. // image from My Scandinavian Home.

This insane but beautiful thing, from Tuula, swimming with stingrays. // image from Tuula.

And the new ikea catalogue!

It was a pain to write this ten minute post on the mobile web version for WordPress…sigh. Again.

abu dhabi – the land of the future.

It’s June, can you believe it? This will be a very very busy month. I have to finish marking all assignments, make exams and mark them and write reports, and finally prepare for next year.

Luckily, I’ve got something to look up to by the end of June that I’m totally excited about — summer holidays!!!! oh yeesss. But before that, let’s hold the horses and work a little bit more, that last push.

In March I had the chance of flying to Dubai, as I’ve previously mentioned before here. I met with several teachers from all over the world and was a great privilege to work alongside them for three days. And part from that, I also had the chance to see first hand one of the most modern cities in the world. It was very different from everywhere I had been in, but if I had to compare it to one place, I’d say Las Vegas, but in Abu Dhabi everything is much more… refined? But I don’t want to repeat myself (anymore than I already do), so check the previous post!

And here a just a couple of pics with the fuji x100s.

Have a great Sunday, y’all!

Sun coming in early.

this brings back memories.

super mario bros.
super mario bros.

When I was around 7 (I think) I got my very first Nintendo Entertainment System, or in short, NES. And for a very very long time Super Mario Bros. was my only game, so I played countless hours. I know every trick, every hack every secret… I know that in that third brick after the 5th coin there’s a hidden star or a hidden Life Mushroom. When I was around 15 I gave my NES away to my old primary school, because  most of the kids couldn’t afford NES or playstations or any of the sort.

Now I miss it.

But fullscreenmario.com brought back the goodness and I’ve had quite a bit of fun playing this old game.

Good old times, always.

CEREAL magazine Giveaway.

To kick off this nice looking Saturday (even though it’s a cold one) I have the very first giveaway on the blog! Everybody say ‘YAAAAAY!’!

*ahem*

Last week my very first CEREAL magazine arrived and I instantly fell in love. And I’m gonna dare and say that it  felt nicer than Kinfolk (I still love kinfolk!). Yeah, it’s *that* good.

This quarterly publication is something between a very nice book and an amazing magazine, featuring food and places to visit, as well as interesting people. The overall design of the magazine is very clean and simple, remind one of the northern european style that makes us all forget about the cold and wanting to move there.

This is CEREAL’s volume two and it takes us on a journey through the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the wonders of the Long Pepper and the flavours of the fiery red paste of Gochujang amongst other things. The writing is beautiful and follows the style of the magazine, sticking to a simple and very eloquoent speech, side by side with absolutely gorgeous examples of the most fine photography.

I love it so damn much that I think one of you guys deserve to feel the same love.
