Welcome Baby L.

On the 13th of June my life, our life, changed forever. My water broke at dawn and at 8am we were already in the hospital ready for the party. Contractions began around noon but the baby refused (or so we thought) to drop further than she had. The pain was already unbearable when I was given an epidural that somehow accelerated the whole thing. She started to drop and I was rushed to the delivery room, where, after literally 5 minutes, my baby girl was born. Turns out she didn’t drop sooner because the umbilical cord was short.

It truly is an indescribable moment.

It seems like yesterday! Time sure does fly even faster when you have a baby to take care of. But… it’s been wonderful (and even that is an understatement). There are really no words that convey what’s been going on.

After two days in the hospital we came back home and it’s been a whole new world for us all. And we can’t wait for more. Welcome Baby L!

Unfortunately there was also room for bad news. A friend has passed away last week very suddenly, leaving everyone shocked.  I’m sorry there wasn’t much more time to get to know him properly. RIP.

Things like this happen everyday, all the time, and no one can get away. This is why it’s so important for everyone to enjoy their lives, the present, to the fullest, making the best of it.

Have a great week!

The peninsula.

Over the weekend we went on a small getaway to Tróia. It was quite wonderful to relax over by the pool and specially to walk around in the white sand beach, that are still empty from the usual summer tourists.

aaah some fresh water.

Definitely a well spent weekend.

Also, thank you to Sequencia de Imagens for featuring the blog on the side bar! Sequencia de Imagens is an awesome Portuguese blog that features, among other things, good music and fashion bits. Have a wonderful day!

Things seem to be changing fast lately.

Suddenly I have less than 10 weeks to go, the contents of our drawers are changing, there is a crib waiting to be set up… but there are still breakfasts being made, walks around the city, and random pics.

Have a nice Sunday evening and a great week start tomorrow!

Random days.

Break has officially ended (last week) and around here, the days have been spent organising wardrobes and little corners of the flat. Throwing stuff out, donating, finding more space, just so we can fill it back up with baby clothes and baby necessities.

At 31 weeks I feel heavier and everything seems to take a toll on me, no matter what small task it is. Only 9 to go.

Here are some random shots of the last few days.
