smells like christmas.

the smell of burning wood in the air outside, by night. That’s when I say “yep. christmas’ here!”
When I think of christmas I rarely remember recent christmas, I always remember christmas at my grandma’s place, back when I was a kid. The burning fire in the fireplace, the food, the desserts, the smiles, the jokes, the games… and I was the only kid in a house packed with adults… it was wonderful.
So every time I smell wood burning in the air (it’s much rare and harder to find it here in the big city) I think of christmas.
So it does smell like christmas… but that’s about it for me, the smell. At least for now.

I’ve been packing my head with words. I need lots of words for the upcoming essays…

  1. I have similar memories of my childhood Christmas. It was all about the movement and the excitement of having a house full of people — my people. I, like most of us, have been losing some dear ones along the “journey”and that special christmas feeling somewhat faded away. Maybe it will back someday, when I became a father… who knows.

Great daily photos. Please, keep them coming. 🙂

    1. Every year I hope that I’ll go back to those years… sometimes it’s a little better, sometimes it’s a little worse. But we gotta keep our hopes up. After all, it’s christmas we’re talking about! Miracles (might) happen!

thank you so, so, so much for your words! =D
