I haven’t written a post on my computer in a very long time. Woah. Awesome. I love my iPhone so very much.
Ever since last week I’ve been sick. It got worse over the weekend…I’ve been having fever and shivers and a stuffed nose and puffy eyes and sore throat and a constant headache and all the lovely things that come along with that. I’ve come back to the home town and I will have to stay for a bit longer to take care of work things and to get myself back in shape… I’m trying to stay in bed and avoid going to the doctor, but I am not sure how long I’ll be able to do that. The only upside is that it’s hot outside and I am never cold, quite the contrary actually… and I’d rather have that than trying to cover myself with all the blankets in the world and still be cold. aah… I can’t wait to go to the beach!…
Since I’m sick in bed I’ve had time to edit my photos from Rome! So here are a few shots from the first day in the italian capital.
The colosseum was on our way from and to the hotel so it was an obligatory stop and an obligatory photo every time.

Via dei Fori Imperiali ‘s walls. Rome has little splashes of beauty everywhere. You have to keep your eyes open for the little things, or you’ll miss them amongst all the other enormous things…

Squared ice-cream truck. If you want to buy water, buy it from the guys out of the street who are selling it for €1. Theses guys on the trucks sell it for way more than that and if you ever do buy from them, ask for either with ice (literally iced bottles of water) or just cold. It might seem wonderful to buy an iced bottler of water due to very hot weather in summer, but you will have to wait until the ice melts if you want to drink anything… better to buy it cold and just fill it up whenever you see a public fountain (they’re everywhere, specially in tiny streets).
The greenery up on the walls is beautiful. I love that and that is exactly what I think about when I think of Italy — well, right after pasta.
We had lunch at obikà, a mozzarella bar in Piazza Campo dè Fiori. Delicious mozzarella. And everything else was very good as well. We had exactly what you see in the pictures: a selection of various meats and prosciutto, arugula salad with melon, two types of mozzarella and simple focaccia. Try the recommended beer. The meal was not cheap (around €50) but it was perfect for that heat we were under. The staff was pleasant and also the square is quite nice, with it’s street market making it a little less touristy and a bit more italian.
